“The Great Imposter”

We at McKenzie Dental want to remind our patients about Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction or TMD and that
treatment is available for TMD at McKenzie Dental.

TMD is most simply described as a disharmony or imbalance between the jaw, muscles and nerves of the face, and the biting alignment of your teeth.

Any imbalance in the above may lead to a variety of symptoms. They may include but are not limited to any or all of the following:

It is easy to see why TMD is called “The Great Imposter” as many of these symptoms may at first seem unrelated to TMD. People may have suffered needlessly for many years with unexplained or misdiagnosed pain.

There is now scientific evidence that the following diseases can be linked to TMD:

For some individuals treating TMD may lessen, arrest and reverse the progress of these diseases.

At McKenzie Dental we emphasize a conservative, non-surgical approach in treating our patients with TMD.

We have the most sophisticated technology presently available in analyzing bite problems and jaw dysfunction associated with TMD.

If you, a friend, or a family member is suffering with any of the above symptoms please contact us at McKenzie Dental. A simple examination can diagnose whether TMD may be the cause of your discomfort and pain and what treatment methods are available to you.
